Founder and Artistic Director
Johanna Suarez also known as Ms. YeYe, is the founder and choreographer for D.K.D.E. Professional dancer from Colombia with more than 17 years of experience as an artistic performer, YeYe has been both a teacher and student of dance in Oakland, San Francisco and internationally. She graduated with honors in Dance and also holds a BA in Political, Legal and Economic Analysis: International Emphasis from Mills College. She recently received a certificate in Sound, Voice and Music Healing from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is pursuing her Masters Degree for Social work: Mental Health Concentration at San Jose State University. 

She is known in the artistic scene as a songstress and dancing storyteller with her band YeYe Suarez. She is the former director for the Family Art Program at the Red Poppy Art House and former Mentor Coordinator for Be A Mentor Boys to Men Mentoring Program. In addition she has served as a facilitator for workshops on art education for low-income, immigrant children, youth and mothers for organizations such as Bay Area Community Resources, Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, San Francisco State University and around the bay area. In the past, she has taught Spanish through art at Viva el Espanol, Hillcrest Language School and Escuela Bilingue Internacional. In her free time, she spends it in prayer, composing songs, playing music, dancing and loves to spend time serving her community.

Owner of Boxing for Health Gym who provided workshops on self-defense as well how he became his own boss. He is also a song writer and performed hip hop to the students while encouraging them to share their stories through songs.

2013- The Tea Dancers Dance Company 



Provided free entrance for students to attend their interdisciplinary arts performance that comprised of dance, aerial dancing, visual arts and inter-media arts.






2013- Rupa and the April Fishes 
Facilitated a workshop on how she became a Medical Doctor and a rock star and performed for the children with an interactive song where the children became part of her performance.

2013 - Aaron Kierbel 

Percussionist for Rupa and the April Fishes who provided a percussion workshop for students and insight on how to become a professional percussionist.

2012 - Rosa los Santos 
Rosa was a famous singer in her home country Peru. Currently she continues to perform in her new home Oakland and around the bay area while at the same time working full time as a veterinary assistant. She taught a workshop to the students about music and dance from her native Peru as well as the steps on how to become a veterinarian. 








2012 - Armando Justo

Provided workshop on how to become a professional Chef and how he got to become the Executive Chef for Google and insight into Google's perks provided to their employees.
